1st Place

Vlad Voinea is a strongman athlete, coach, and advocate for the sport, dedicated to the development of strength, performance, and strongman culture. His work is built around a disciplined and methodical approach in which raw strength is complemented by structural preparation, strategy, and a deep understanding of the training process. Throughout his sporting journey, Vlad has gained experience both in competition and in preparing for the specific demands of strongman, developing his own perspective on how an athlete should be built and prepared for performance. Alongside his work as an athlete, he is involved in promoting and developing the strongman community, using VladimirStrongman.com as a platform dedicated to information, education, and the history of the sport. For Vlad, strongman is not simply about lifting kilograms. It is about structure, character, discipline, adaptation, and the ability to keep moving forward when the weight on the bar begins to tell a harder story than it first appears.
Vlad Voinea, known in the Strongman arena as “Wrath of Zalmoxis”, represents one of the rising presences on the Romanian and international Strongman scene. His profile is built around a combination of body mass, raw strength, work capacity and the willingness to confront extremely different events from one competition to another.
With a build of approximately 180 cm and 137 kg, Vlad is made for a sport in which body size must be transformed into applicable strength, speed, stability and the ability to handle unusually heavy loads.
His documented competitive journey begins in 2025, with participation in Urban StrongFest Bucharest. At the 2025 Svilajnac Open Cup in Serbia, Vlad took first place in a nine-athlete competition, a result representing his first documented international victory.
The 2026 season represented a clear acceleration. Vlad competed in Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary and the Republic of Moldova, accumulating experience in very different formats and events.
Vlad has been tested in Atlas Stones, Log Lift, Dumbbell Press, Car Deadlift, Silver Dollar Deadlift, Truck Pull, Super Yoke, Frame Carry, Tire Flip, Power Stairs, Conan's Wheel, Front Hold, Hercules Hold, Duck Walk, Loading Race, Sandbag Toss and medleys. This variety demands maximal strength, acceleration, muscular endurance, stability, grip, coordination, technique, mobility, anaerobic capacity, fatigue management and adaptability.
At the 2026 Cup of Friendship in Chișinău, Vlad won Truck Pull in 15.60 seconds and Super Yoke in 34.10 seconds. These results highlight his ability to transform strength into movement and to combine power, stability, acceleration and coordination under competitive pressure.
At the Cup of Friendship in Chișinău, Vlad finished second out of 12 athletes. He placed first in Truck Pull and Super Yoke, second in Car Deadlift, fourth in Atlas Stones, fifth in the Medley and sixth in Max Log Lift. He completed 6 repetitions in Car Deadlift and lifted 100 kg in Max Log Lift.
Vlad has repeatedly demonstrated competitive ability in Atlas Stones. At the 2026 Cup of Friendship he completed four stones, and at PSL Silver Round II in Siófok he again completed four stones, in a series reaching 160 kg.
At the 2026 Cup of Friendship he finished second in Car Deadlift with 6 repetitions, while at PSL Silver Round II he completed 13 repetitions in Silver Dollar Deadlift. The results indicate a valuable combination of strength and strength endurance.
At the 2026 Svilajnac Open Cup, Vlad completed 2 repetitions with a 75 kg dumbbell, placing third in the event. He also competed in Dumbbell Ladder, developing an increasingly complete overhead-strength profile.
At the 2026 Svilajnac Open Cup he finished second in Tire Flip, with 5 flips in 18.33 seconds, and third in Truck Pull, with a time of 25.00 seconds. These events highlight his ability to combine body mass with acceleration and coordination.
In 2025, Vlad participated in the Strongman demonstrations at the Auto Total Business Show at Romexpo in Bucharest. Official event materials mentioned him among the Romanian athletes included in the Strongman demonstration, alongside Vladimir Comorovschi, Iulian Moțo, Glad-Alexandru Dumitrache and Robert Trifan, under the coordination of Balkan champion Vlad Leahu.
Media materials dedicated to the event included Vlad among the new generation of Romanian Strongman athletes, contributing to his visibility beyond competition standings.
Taken as a whole, Vlad Voinea's profile combines demonstrated strength, dynamic power, versatility across a wide range of disciplines, work capacity under fatigue, adaptability and growing international experience. He is not a finished product, but an athlete with a solid physical foundation and significant room for development.
In Strongman, progress is not only about lifting more. Technique, execution speed, conditioning, recovery, energy efficiency and tactical experience can transform the existing physical base into a much stronger competitive profile. For Vlad, the next stage means expressing the strength he has already demonstrated with greater efficiency and turning competitive experience into consistency.
Vlad Voinea should be viewed as an athlete in an accelerated phase of competitive maturation. In approximately two documented seasons, he moved from debut to international competitions in several countries, earned a victory, reached the podium and won individual events against international opposition.
His strong results have emerged while his competitive experience is still developing. There is an already demonstrated physical base, but also significant room for progress in technique, speed, conditioning, strategy and experience.
The name “Wrath of Zalmoxis” has become Vlad Voinea's competitive identity, linking contemporary strength with an image inspired by the Dacian world and the idea of an athlete built to confront the heavy. On the platform, however, the name matters less than performance. And the numbers already tell a clear story: an international victory, a podium finish in Chișinău, two event wins at the same competition, strong results in Car Deadlift, consistent Atlas Stones results and growing international experience.
Vlad Voinea's career is at an interesting point. He is no longer simply a debutant, but he has not yet defined his ceiling. The next stage means turning accumulated experience into consistency, turning strength into efficiency and turning individual event wins into increasingly stronger overall standings.
The story is not finished. It is still being built.
